China’s first GWh-scale intelligent production line for full-tab large cylindrical sodium-ion batteries goes into operation! Namei Technology Bazhong Base officially launches.
Autumn ushers in a new journey; sodium-ion technology writes a brilliant chapter. On September 16, the commissioning ceremony of Namei New Energy Technology (Bazhong) Co., Ltd. and the Bazhong Sodium-ion Battery Industry Supply-Demand Matching Conference were grandly held in Bazhong City, Sichuan Province. Leaders from the Department of Economy and Information Technology of Sichuan Province and principal municipal government leaders attended and delivered speeches. Industry experts, corporate shareholders, financial institutions, and upstream and downstream partners of the industrial chain witnessed the historic launch of China’s first GWh-scale intelligent production line for full-tab large cylindrical sodium-ion batteries.
At the start of the event, visiting guests toured the Namei Technology Bazhong Base, including the enterprise exhibition hall and production workshops. Through on-site observation and guided briefings, they gained first-hand insights into the complete manufacturing process of sodium-ion batteries, standardized production systems, core performance advantages and technical highlights of the full product portfolio, and directly experienced Namei Technology’s leading technological innovations and industrialization capabilities in intelligent manufacturing for sodium-ion batteries.
During the ceremony, Zhou Zhiyong, Chairman of Namei New Energy Technology (Bazhong) Co., Ltd., stated in his address that since the project kicked off, it has received strong support from the CPC Municipal Committee, municipal government, various departments of the Economic and Technological Development Zone, as well as attention from all sectors of society. Sodium-ion batteries feature abundant raw material resources, safe and stable operation, wide temperature tolerance, and controllable costs, ushering in a window for large-scale commercialization. Meanwhile, Bazhong boasts abundant energy resources, robust policy backing and broad market space, which provide solid support for Namei Technology’s industrial development. Taking this commissioning ceremony and supply-demand matching conference as a bridge, Namei Technology will connect the upstream and downstream industrial chains and contribute to the development of Bazhong’s new energy industrial cluster.

Zheng Yanling, Deputy General Manager of Namei New Energy Technology (Bazhong) Co., Ltd., unveiled the new “Najiu” 330Ah sodium-ion battery product for energy storage. Integrating large capacity, long cycle life and high-rate performance, this product can be applied in frequency regulation energy storage, hybrid energy storage and long-duration energy storage scenarios. Compared with conventional energy storage batteries, the “Najiu” 330Ah sodium-ion battery delivers outstanding safety and environmental adaptability. It effectively improves the operating efficiency of energy storage systems, substantially cuts project construction and operation & maintenance costs, and provides customers with stable and reliable energy storage solutions and full-lifecycle investment value, fully demonstrating Namei Technology’s strong R&D capability and long-term product roadmap.
Zhang Yan, Technical Director of Namei New Energy Technology (Bazhong) Co., Ltd., launched the anode-free sodium-ion battery brand “Naxing”. This innovation eliminates the internal anode material of the battery and enables in-situ anode formation on demand. It is not merely a material substitution, but a technological revolution in the battery sector, targeting the synergy of high energy density and low cost. The core of anode-free sodium-ion technology lies in interface regulation. By constructing dual-functional interfaces with sodium affinity and electrical conductivity, paired with highly associated sodium salts to form CIP-rich electrolyte solvation structures, uniform sodium nucleation is induced. The interface electric field and ion flux distribution are optimized to achieve smooth and even sodium deposition. The product retains 95% of its capacity at 5C discharge, maintains over 90% discharge capacity at -40°C, and achieves a cycle life exceeding 2000 cycles, with excellent kinetic and low-temperature performance. Leveraging this innovative anode-free architecture, the energy density reaches 180Wh/kg, and the endurance performance is boosted by 66%, opening a brand-new track for sodium-ion industrialization with disruptive technology.
Namei Technology signed strategic cooperation agreements with Bank of China Bazhong Branch, China Construction Bank Bazhong Branch, Postal Savings Bank of China Bazhong Branch and Bazhong Rural Commercial Bank Co., Ltd. The signing aims to establish long-term and stable strategic partnerships, secure comprehensive credit lines and financial investment support to sustain the enterprise’s long-term development.
Namei Technology also inked on-site contracts with Shenzhen Jiana Energy Technology Co., Ltd., Huzhou Yingna New Energy Materials Co., Ltd., Sichuan Baisige New Material Technology Co., Ltd., Wuhan Tianna Technology Co., Ltd. and Xinxiang Huarui Lithium New Energy Co., Ltd. The agreements cover cathode, anode, electrolyte and other materials for sodium-ion batteries, which will consolidate the supply chain and stabilize raw material supply for mass production at the Namei Technology Bazhong Base.
Namei Technology sealed strategic cooperation deals with customer entities including Xuchang Dianke Energy Storage Technology Co., Ltd., Shenzhen Carque Technology Co., Ltd., Huaan Xinchuang (Jiangsu) Lithium Battery Co., Ltd., Hebei Construction Group Installation Engineering Co., Ltd., Henan Wanyang Lithium New Energy Co., Ltd., Jiangsu Lingchu Yuneng Technology Co., Ltd. and ETANOLA LLC for energy storage, starter power supply, low-power and other applications. Namei Technology will supply sodium-ion battery products and supporting technical services for clients, and accelerate the market adoption of sodium-ion products relying on the production capacity of its Bazhong sodium battery base.
At the commissioning ceremony, Zhou Zhiyong, Chairman of Namei Technology, together with shareholder representatives and customer representatives, pressed the launch button, marking the official full operation of China’s first GWh-scale intelligent mass production line for full-tab large cylindrical sodium-ion batteries and kicking off a brand-new chapter of quality improvement, efficiency enhancement and industrial upgrading for Namei Technology.
Professor Xu Fei from Northwestern Polytechnical University delivered a comprehensive presentation covering new energy storage technologies, anode material analysis, core technology R&D and performance benchmarking. He clearly outlined the technical barriers, innovation breakthroughs and implementation value of sodium-ion batteries in new energy storage, and clarified the development context and innovation pathways of cutting-edge sodium-ion battery technologies.
Huo Yuan, Battery System Director of Zhejiang Remote New Energy Commercial Vehicle Group Co., Ltd., elaborated on the technical characteristics of battery packs for alcohol-hydrogen light trucks, the performance of single sodium-ion battery packs and the performance of sodium-ion packs on complete vehicles. He pointed out that the excellent low-temperature discharge capability of sodium-ion batteries can improve cold start performance, full power recovery time and overall low-temperature energy consumption of alcohol-hydrogen vehicles, offering new ideas and practical directions for the application of diversified power technology routes for new energy commercial vehicles.
Li Gan, Member of the Party Working Committee and Deputy Director of the Administrative Committee of Bazhong Economic and Technological Development Zone, introduced the zone from multiple dimensions including strategic positioning, geographical advantages, market potential and industrial ecosystem. The municipal government has rolled out a “Eight Ones” promotion mechanism and planned five functional zones: innovation and R&D zone, anode material production zone, cathode material production zone, separator material production zone, and cell & PACK manufacturing zone. A full industrial chain integrating “materials, cells and applications” is being built in all respects. Special support policies, industrial funds, technology R&D and talent introduction services for the sodium-ion industry are provided, forming a coordinated development pattern of “core park + supporting parks”.
Planned with an annual capacity of 1.5 GWh, China’s first GWh-scale intelligent production line for full-tab large cylindrical sodium-ion batteries serves as Namei Technology’s core sodium-ion mass production base in Bazhong, Sichuan. Located in the Intelligent Manufacturing Industrial Park of Bazhong Economic and Technological Development Zone, the project has a total investment of approximately RMB 500 million and occupies around 30,000 ㎡ of leased standard factory buildings. Upon full operation, it is expected to generate annual operating revenue exceeding RMB 600 million and create roughly 700 local jobs, injecting strong momentum into the improvement and development of Bazhong’s new energy industrial chain.
The commissioning of the 1.5GWh sodium-ion project stands as a key milestone of Namei Technology’s strategic layout in the southwest market, and ushers in a new chapter of integrated and coordinated industrial development between the enterprise and Bazhong.
